My nighttime routine has become a form of self-respect. It’s the one time of day I put myself first. After Olive goes down, I start winding down. This means, shower, skincare, PJ’s, castor oil pack, blue light glasses on, pink salt lamps, turn down the bed and phone on Do Not Disturb.

To be honest, I used to work late, answer emails from bed, scroll for way too long on social media, and fall asleep with a show still playing. I hated how I felt in the mornings. It was overstimulating. Even when “scrolling” on social media or answering DM’s, I felt as though I was not giving my body proper rest and rejuvenation.

Now I see my evenings as sacred. It takes me a solid 2 hours to decompress. And I’ve learned to honor that. It’s when I reconnect with myself, with my husband, and refill my tank for the next day. Every time I open my phone or scroll on social media at night, I’m letting other people into that space and honestly, that’s not the energy I want before sleep.

These 5 little swaps I made are simple. But they’ve changed everything about how I feel at night (and in the morning). No pressure, no perfection—just a few shifts that help me take care of me. I have proof too! My sleep score is pretty high, showing I am getting great restful sleep at night.

If you want my simple swaps, keep reading!
