Just 9 ingredients, and 15 minutes is all it takes for this delicious, juicy chicken shawarma! Which makes it the perfect weeknight meal or Sunday meal prep recipe!

It’s a meal that everyone loves!

When I used to cook for a few of the Indiana Pacers, this was one their favorites. I made it as a post-game or an off-day meal. Why? Because chicken contains a mineral called chromium, it helps balance blood sugar to normalize hunger and cravings.

I prefer marinating a big batch of this chicken on Sunday night, the next day it’s ready for the air fryer! I just pop it in there and make a yogurt sauce to go along with it!

How can I make the yogurt sauce?

Into a bowl, mix together the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup thick plain yogurt

    • I prefer using organic full fat greek yogurt (20g of protein in just 1 cup)

  • 1/2 cup diced cucumber

  • 1 lemon, juiced

  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

  • Optional: 2 tablespoons dried or freshly chopped dill

In the middle eastern culture, it’s very common to eat any meal with a yogurt sauce. So if you’ve never tried dipping or serving your chicken, try this combo and let me know what you think!

This is best served along side warm pita bread or fluffy rice! Click the button below to learn how to make the BEST fluffy rice!
