Gut Health Sweet Potato Chili

This is a great recipe for those of us who want to make something gut friendly, cozy and delicious for the week!

What I love about this dish, is that you just put in 30 minutes of work at the beginning of the week and you are left with 5 or so meals!

These meals can be frozen individually or frozen in bulk. So if you know you’ll be low on time in the coming weeks, just throw a meal or 2 in the freezer and pull it out the day of to enjoy!

I will be making this for myself for prepping for baby! It’s so flavorful, and packed with so much nutrition!

We use warming gut healthy ingredients in this recipe! It’s easy to digest, and has a ton of fuel. It’s perfect for anyone with allergies too!

This dish can be made vegan and is totally gluten free, grain free, tomato free and soy free.

If you love protein, you can add any sort of ground meat, if you prefer meat-free add any sort of plant based meat alternative.

Let’s talk about the ingredients…

Sweet potatoes: sweet potatoes are such an amazing source of vitamin A, which is great for our skin! The vitamin E in them helps protect our cells from damage!

Carrots: carrots are packed with antioxidants & they are anti-aging! The best way to cut carrots is to wash then, then cut the end off. Slice it in half lengthwise, then place the flat side down. Then you can cut into the desired size!

Taco seasoning blend: you can make your own or buy it at the store! To make your own, just mix together chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and red pepper flakes (if you like it spicy).

Kidney beans: although you can use any beans you want, kidney beans are packed with B6, which is actually a natural antidepressant!

Spinach: spinach is loaded with iron, its vital for the production of energy and it’s best absorbed with lemon, hence why you’ll also find lemon in this dish!
