What’s going on!
We just got back from a whole week in Florida! We stayed with my brother and sister-in-law’s house in St Pete Beach, and we got to immerse ourselves in the city we used to live in! We visited family, friends, and spent endless hours outside and at the beach. We ate at our favorite restaurants, and showed Olive everything we loved about the city. It was really special, I cherished all of the sunsets we got to watch!
The best part was that I went back to the exact spot I was hit by a car over 4 years ago. And in case you didn’t know… Yup, 4 years ago I was hit by a car while I was biking. After an extensive 3 month recovery, I slowly began to heal. I made a YouTube video about all about the lessons I learned in my recovery process years ago. I wanted to show Olive that her mommy is strong, and that we are blessed every day we get a chance to wake up. Here’s a picture at the exact location; big smiles on our face because we are lucky to be alive.
Lastly, let’s talk traveling with a “toddler” or baby! Olive did great on the airplane. I was really nervous about a 5 hour flight and a 12 hour travel day. I had tons of snacks, new toys she had never seen before, iPad loaded with shows & a really interesting blow up mattress that kept her from falling down in the seat! I’ll share more about the mattress in a bit.
Fun fact, you can take ANYTHING on an airplane if it’s for the baby. I had filtered water, milk bottles, formula, snacks, oats, literally the works! I also think it was crucial to bring a stroller, just gate check it & it works out perfectly! You can pop all of your bags under it & don’t have to worry about carrying the baby through the airport!
