Persian Shirazi Salad
a Persian salad we serve with everything!
This simple shirazi salad is a bright cucumber and tomato based salad, with no lettuce! It’s loaded with herbs and dressed with a simple dressing. It’s perfect for a side dish in the summer!
Let’s talk about the ingredients…
Tomatoes: I usually use roma tomatoes! But any tomatoes will do. The more firm, the better, just so the salad doesn't have too much liquid.
Cucumbers: Of course, we love using Persian cucumbers but an English cucumber will also do! You have the option to peel or keep the skin on.
Red onions: These need to be chopped really finely. If you like a particular kind of onion more than red onion, just use that!
Mint: This is where we add the flavor, you can use fresh or dried! It’s up to you!
What to serve with this salad…
Try serving this with some air fried salmon.
If you are a chicken lover, try it with air fried chicken cutlets.
If you want to take it to a whole new level, bake this saffron rice called Tahchin.
Appliances & Cookware Recommended
1x large bowl, for mixing
I love using this veggie chopper, it makes life so much easier
If you don’t want to get the veggie chopper, just use a sharp knife!
