December of 2023 was a month of reflection. I had feelings of un-alignment & utter overwhelm. I knew something needed to change going into the new year.
What I did to get to the bottom of it..
Quiet time, without my phone, computer, podcast or music.
Journaling, allow myself to free write. Basically meaning I word vomit pen to paper until I feel like I get to the root cause. If you’ve never tried this, you gotta.
Guided activations / meditations to help my mind quiet down (through the Superhuman app).
Talk to a very few people whom I respect & want their opinion. I’m picky about who’s opinion I get (If I don’t want your life, I don’t want your opinion).
My entire identity changed in 2023, I became a flipping mother! Thus, I shared my motherhood journey on social media - I guess I thought I had to.. To be honest, every time I shared about motherhood, I felt awkward sometimes 😑
Listen to my latest podcast to get the scoop on why!
Contrary to what you may believe, I am an extremely private person. I joke that if I didn’t have a food account, no one would ever know how to get a hold or me or what I was doing!
But here’s the problem…
I wish that someone I trusted would share all of the difficulties of pregnancy, birth, motherhood, then the transition to how life changes, how relationships change, and what it’s really like. None of the sugar coating BS.
A part of me wanted to be that for YOU.
However, sharing all of the intimate details to 400K people absolutely DOES NOT come naturally. So I found a solution… My Substack Family.
If you are reading this, you are the real deal. My ride or die. I will be giving you the behind the scenes, just like I would chat with my best friend. Instead, it’s right here on Substack, with photos and all.
The people that are truly curious about my motherhood journey, entrepreneurship, family dynamics, raising a child, things I am loving, things that annoy me & owning an own business.
So, just like that, you won’t see too much of that on my social accounts. Rather, you will see it sent to your inbox. I envision us chatting in the comments & creating a safe space for all other women going through similar stories to come together & share advice & support.
Don’t worry, I will still be sharing my favorite recipes, favorite pics and what I am eating!
I appreciate you and I really thank you for being here!! xx Jazzy
Ok, let’s get to the coconut rice recipe!👇🏼
